Dog training and behaviour in the Winchester area

Thanks for visiting. If you’ve come here I’m guessing that you are about to become the proud owner of a new puppy or perhaps you're welcoming a rowdy rescue dog into your house for the first time and are in need of some dog training advice? Or perhaps you already have a dog that misbehaves and you don't know where to start.

In any case, you’re in the right place. I offer training and behaviour support for clients to help you get the results you want. Have a look around and give me a call if you’d like to chat more about training and behaviour options for your pooch.

I cover the Hampshire area including Winchester, South Wonston, Kings Worthy, Crawley, Sparsholt, Littleton, Harestock, Sutton Scotney, Micheldever, Itchen Abbas, Easton, Twyford, Hursley and Colden Common and beyond.

So how can I help you and your dog?

Dogs ‘misbehave’ for a variety of reasons, including lack of training, frustration, boredom, lack of confidence, anxiety or if they have an undiagnosed medical condition. I can help you to understand why your dog is behaving in a way you don’t want and teach you how to guide them to behave more appropriately. I use proven scientific methods which are based on how dogs learn, and I strongly believe that it’s essential to create a suitable learning environment to enable you and your dog to flourish.

Why choose me?

I've had the pleasure of sharing my life and home with multiple rescue dogs over the past twenty years. This has provided me with valuable first hand experience of some of the challenges which you might be facing if you're a first time dog/puppy owner.

I constantly strive to ensure my knowledge is up-to-date, and attend seminars and study with leading industry professionals regularly. See below for a list of courses completed and qualifications.

When we meet for the first time I'll spend a lot of time getting to know you and your dog. We'll identify any issues together and can then work to resolve them. I believe in understanding the full picture and tailoring a training package  specific to you, your dog, your lifestyle and your specific requirements. Training is carried out at a time and location to suit you and your dog and we'll make use of natural environments  to allow you to teach your dog real life skills.

I’m fully insured and canine first aid trained.

What people say...

Nina Irlam (& Winnie)

Katie has been an invaluable help to me with my 2 yr old terrier both with basic training and with agility.

She has a lovely quiet empathy and perception of the dogs abilities and temperament. When problems arise [ mostly a result of the owner!] she is quickly able to offer a solution or advise a different approach.

I would have no hesitation in recommending her for dog training classes and wish she was more local to me so that I could attend her classes!

Meeting Katie for a one to one dog training session was truly inspirational.

She knew all sorts of clever techniques to get my chihauhau to follow instructions enthusiastically and also have lots of fun at the same time!

I learnt things that I could easily incorporate into my daily routine and it has been hugely beneficial!

A big thank you to Katie for all her help!

Excellent dog trainer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First met Katie when my pup (Argo) was 14 weeks. Argo is a low content wolf dog which brings a new dimension to dog training.

Katie has taken the time to get to know Argo and understand the differences that the wolf DNA presents.  As a consequence Katie's guidance has been invaluable in developing trust and respect through her fun, relaxed and positive training.

Argo is now 9 months and we still attend training with Katie.

If you are looking for a trainer who is welcoming, supportive and instructive I would highly recommend Katie.
